This is a quick entry, BUT A TOTALLY AWESOME ONE.

I submitted a design to Patch Together (a designer toy sort of on demand creation place) earlier, and it was actually selected! What that means is that if it gets enough support and is liked enough, it will be made into an actual designer toy!

Check it out here, because this is how to shamelessly promote crap, [link] .

Even if nothing comes of it, the fact that I got a design accepted is just awesome. Hooray! :)

Yikes, so I vanished again. Whoops...I could tell you that I was off in fabulous locales on some amazing adventures, but that would make me a mighty big liar. So I won't!

Let's see here...Connecticon was an interesting experience (with awesome people!!). Then the rest of the summer happened. And now it's fall! I've got news of course...New Severed Head stuff: Severed Head Presents is now available! It's got a new Monster Girl story (in which more characters are introduced and Elby has to fight some deranged ladies), and :iconmightyfooda:'s Sarge starts off awesomely (no joke, this story is kick-ass!). We'll (various Severed Head folks) will be at Boston Comic-con this weekend! So come by and say hello!

Also, there's a nice little intro to Urchin Punch up at [link] the webcomic I've been working on for a while. These pages are just the start, there's much more to come!

Also, this one's totally overdue, but the comic :iconmightyfooda: did, DIG UP HER BONES, that has my side story THE WONDROUS MISDEEDS OF THE INFAMOUS ALICE is also out! You can check that out here: [link]

I think that's it...And I'm back. I'll stop vanishing, I promise. =P

Holy crap, I suck at updates lately!

So, after some camera issues (mainly, I didn't have one with me and borrowed one), here be a [link] to some of the commissions I did from Anime Boston along with various other pics we took. Note the awesome lady who's name tag read "YOUR MOM." She walked past us before we realized what that tag said, then flipped out and her husband had her come back so we could take her picture. She kicked major butt, she did.

You may note the "Urchin Punch" titles on that flickr page...Urchin Punch, :iconurchinpunch:, is a webcomic I've been working on with my friend Tim for like the last 4 years (on and off). We're close to getting some pages up (once I um...draw them, that is), and it is very much not like my normal Severed Head comics. It's about ninjas, pirates, squids...oh man, it's just silly and WRONG. I'll put more info up when there's more to see on it. :)

Also! I'm going to be at Connecticon! Hooray! I'm going to be in the Artist Colony at table 8 A&B. As usual, I'll have a full compliment of Severed Head books, prints (including the fancy prints from Anime Boston), pins, and the current t-shirts I've "got in stock." Commissions will be available too! And stickers, stickers with squids! I think we can send them out there, anyway. Yeah, how about that? Stop on by and make noise with the word hole and such! I WILL BE NORMAL I PROMISE.

OH, yes, I am an aunt now too. Which is awesome. My nephew has the same initials as I do (exactly), which makes me think that I'm obviously his favorite already. And he's growing like crazy and is well on his way to being a candidate for Fat Baby. That's right, I want him on Chelsea Lately, suckers.

And lastly, new stuff from Severed Head is on the way...

Anime Boston Redux

Mon Jun 1, 2009, 7:29 PM
I just put the Redux in to be cool, mwahaha. (...and fail)

So Anime Boston was last weekend...plus some. And it was AWESOME. Many thanks to everyone with kind words, everyone who didn't immediately think my Octobat Standup was Cthulhu, the people who DID thing it was Ctchulhu, the crazy drunk dude who chatted us up, our awesome neighbor who hilariously yelled "YOUR MOM LOST THE GAME" after the million+ times we heard that, our plushie-making friends on either side, the salad place downstairs for being DELICIOUS, and all the people who asked me to draw things for them.

Seriously, that's the coolest thing I've got to do since I've started this whole self-publishing thing...sure, I didn't move many prints or comics, but to think people wanted me to draw their characters for them? That's just such a warm gooey feeling that I'm getting cavities. So to all you commissioning people? A very, very sincere thank you.

So there are pictures of things. To come. In the meantime, life cropped up again really quick, and I'm about to be an aunt. So the pics will come later from Anime Boston...once my family officially has started the next generation of loud, crazy people.

Anime Boston!

Wed May 13, 2009, 9:39 PM
Hooboy, what have I gotten myself into now?

I'm going to be at Anime Boston Memorial Day weekend people. In the artist alley. Selling things. Yelling at people. Okay, probably not, but imagining that I am. I went to Anime Boston twice before, as a visitor, and dropped more money there than I had any business dropping. So it only makes sense that a few years later with a few actual stories under my belt that I go as an exhibitor, right?

So here's the deal. If you're going to be in Boston, or planning on going to the show anyway, drop by. Chat and stuff. Tell me I draw ladylike gentlemen and that my backgrounds are, at best, lacking. Or be super awesome and buy something, or pretend to be interested in buying something. Or just toss me a "hey, what's up? I see you draw things." I'm not picky.

I'll have the usual compliments of Severed Head Comics, prints (plus some shiny new ones), NEW t-shirts, a possible specialty bag (that one is time permitting), and will be doing some on-site drawery. There may be some additional squid and octo-bat type things available too.

Oh, and I'm listed as...Cara Judd. That's my name and all...although now I'm thinking it would have been really hilarious to register myself under something like "Gertrude of the Almighty Bag-Lunched Squid Brigade" or something. I'm a weirdo, you see.

In review...Anime Boston. May 22-23. The Hynes Convention Center. Come and say hi and I'll trip over words that possibly belong to the english language or something.

Hope to see some of you rapscallions there. :)
